E-token, Payment and Refund Terms

Clear pricing, settlement, usage, refund and chargeback rules.

Effective and last updated: 9 October 2026

1. Payment provider

Academora uses Paystack to process eligible online payments. Payment-card details and bank authentication are entered in Paystack’s controlled environment. Academora receives transaction references and status information needed to confirm access and reconcile settlements.

2. School term subscriptions

Schools select a capacity plan of up to 5,000 pupils and choose 100% upfront, 40% upfront, or no upfront payment with 50/50 recovery. The 40% option authorizes Tomsphere to recover the remaining 60% from the school’s declared e-token proceeds for that term. The separately added parent-paid 10% service fee never reduces the subscription balance. Under the no-upfront option, 50% of each school-set e-token price repays the full term subscription and the other 50% settles to the school. Recovery is capped at the unpaid balance; after repayment, all base e-token proceeds settle to the school. Any excess collected by an older or simultaneous checkout is recorded for return to the school. Bank details must be provided and verified during onboarding. Full-payment and 40% subscriptions require verification of the selected upfront payment; the no-upfront option requires acceptance of its recovery terms, not a zero-value payment. Provider settlement schedules still apply. The school must pay any remaining balance before the next term can activate, even if token sales are insufficient. Schools can settle the balance directly through Finance. Existing published parent records remain available under their normal access rules. The accepted plan, payment option and terms version are recorded for each term.

3. E-token price

Each school chooses its own e-token price. Academora displays that price before a relevant purchase or commercial confirmation. Tomsphere does not silently replace the school’s declared price.

4. Parent-funded access

After secure login and identification of an eligible published result, the parent purchases an e-token. The parent pays the school’s declared e-token amount plus a separate 10% Tomsphere service fee and the Paystack processing charge shown at checkout, regardless of the school’s subscription payment option. For a deferred subscription, the school’s proceeds first repay its outstanding term balance. After repayment, school proceeds settle to its verified account. If an older or simultaneous checkout completes after the balance is cleared, any excess is recorded as money owed to the school and returned separately to its verified account. Provider settlement timing, available transfer funds or verification requirements can delay this return; a pending return is not represented as paid. Tomsphere bears any additional transfer fee for returning an excess collection. The total must be displayed before the parent authorizes payment.

6. Three-use limit

A purchased e-token permits three successful online openings of the entitled student’s result for the identified academic period. Each new successful opening counts as one use. A PDF download during an opened view is included, but opening the online result again uses another view. After three uses, a new e-token is required. Existing five-use purchases retain their remaining allowance until renewal. Tokens cannot be transferred between students, schools or academic periods.

7. Failed and pending payments

A pending or failed transaction does not activate paid access. If a bank debit occurs without confirmed access, the payer should first allow the payment provider’s normal reconciliation period, then contact us with the Paystack reference and payment email. Never send a full card number, PIN or one-time password.

8. Refunds

Refund requests may be considered for a verified duplicate charge, an unauthorized transaction, a technical failure that prevented the purchased access from being supplied, an incorrect charge, or where applicable law requires a refund. A successfully issued and used digital e-token is ordinarily not refundable merely because the result has already been viewed or downloaded.

Requests should be sent promptly to tomsphereglobaltechltd@gmail.com with the payment reference, payer email, school and reason. We may coordinate with the school and Paystack. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment channel and may take the provider or bank’s processing time.

9. Chargebacks and reversals

A reversal or chargeback may cause the related entitlement to be suspended while the transaction is investigated. Schools are responsible for accurate settlement information and must cooperate with reasonable evidence requests. Nothing here prevents a payer from exercising a lawful chargeback or consumer right.

10. Receipts and support

The payment confirmation identifies the transaction and applicable amount. Payment questions may be sent to tomsphereglobaltechltd@gmail.com. Do not pay money to a personal account or an unofficial contact claiming to represent Academora.
